dhaka street food
The city people are crazy about dhaka street food and they don’t need any dhaka food guide to taste all those lip smacking foods. The reason behind this is people daily get to eat a wide variety of foods that is relatively cheap and easily edible. Dhaka is known for its dazzling variety of street food. These mouth-watering delights are available pretty much everywhere and anywhere around dhaka street.

There many types of streetfood in dhaka. Street vendors are easy to come by in any zone; if you’ve got no clue – look for a bunch of chairs (maybe even a table) surrounding a wooden ‘van-gaari’. Or a more furnished minibus type of ‘van-gaari’. The budget can range from 50-150 tk for a single person, depending on how much he/she eats.

Here are the traditional street snacks to entice your taste buds:

Fuchka and Chotpoty are tasty snacks. Dhaka city and fuchka chotpoty shares a very old relation. In parks, restaurants, shopping malls, in fact in all the streets, fuchka -chotpoty is available.

Jhalmuri- A traditional Bengali snack, jahlmuri starts with puffed rice. Like most street foods, there’s no set recipe, each chef will make this favorite snack on their own. The most traditional additions are vegetables (onion, potato, chick peas, and cucumber), spices (masala powder, coriander, and ginger, salt), peanuts, and mustard oil and lime juice. Jhalmuri is often served in a paper cone. The price range of each cone is from 5tk to 12tk, or more you need, more you have to pay.

It would be very rare to find out a single city dweller who hasn’t tasted the above two snacks anywhere from the city street. So if you are still not going for them then you are probably missing out one of the best snacks of your life. So go for it and leave all other dhaka food guide aside.
